Effective Journal Prompts to Create a Radiant Life

What are journal prompts?

We have often seen journal prompts floating around on social media. An example is “I would tell my 10 year old self …”.

Journaling is all about reflection – about the past, the present and the future. But I have specifically used journaling to become self-aware. In other words, journaling has helped me understand myself. Through my daily journaling practice, I have realized and recognized my limitations and more importantly, why those limitations exist.

Journal prompts are phrases and conversation starters that anyone can use to reflect on some aspect of their lives that is not in alignment with what they truly desire.

Why do I need to use journal prompts?

For a beginner or a seasoned journalist, journal prompts are very useful tools. Sometimes even the more advanced diarists get stuck in one perspective. For example, book authors or other artists often deal with “creative blocks”. In those times, it’s quite useful to simply use a prompt to re-start the flow of thoughts again.

When I wanted to start a gratitude practice, I started using a journal prompt that simply said “10 things I am grateful for today are …”. After a few days, I did not need that “reminder” to express my appreciation for what I have and it simply became a habit.

I have found it beneficial to keep a deck of journal prompts by your desk or wherever you like to sit and write.

Introducing the 'Radiant Life Journal'

Over the last few months, I have been working to create a daily journal that you can use. And I have called it the ‘Radiant Life Journal’. This daily journal will help you create positive momentum required to establish a new way of living.

This journal will not only help you create new success mind-set shifts, but it will also help you delete the old mind-set that does not serve you in any way, shape of form. It’s important to remember that sustainable change takes time, patience and effort. Sustainable change also requires a sense of open-mindedness and consistency in any effort that you take.

I designed the ‘Radiant Life Journal’ keeping in mind that healing is serious work. To balance the seriousness that healing work will bring to your life, I have added playful and relaxing activities to the daily journal.

Healing never ends. But over time, it gets easier as you start to understand your capacity for what you will tolerate in your life. The best test of how much you have healed is the amount of synchronicity taking place in my life. For example, if you are starting to get into alignment with your highest self (your spirit), you will start to see various positive shifts and co-incidences in your relationships, work and health. You might find the perfect health program or the perfect vitamin for your needs. It’s possible for your relationships to become more supportive and respectful. And you might find yourself in situations where people appear to give you the career  opportunities that you had been looking for!
